Hello London embassy applicants! Thought i would start a new discussion as to not go off topic on waiting times on other forums. We DQ'd Feb 17th and are hoping for a May interview. With the current rate of the Vaccine rollout her in the UK I believe i may get called for my first dose before/near my interview time. All being well by the time my second dose would be needed I would hope i would be in the states. So I am wondering is anyone likely to be in the same position as me? Have you spoke to your doctor and got any advice? Are you thinking wait till to you get to the states for both doses or just have one here and one there?

Not an opportunity to debate Covid or the Vaccine please! Purely just interested in anyone deciding the same as myself. :) Much love x

Hi we DQd 15 Jan, there are those who DQd back in October who’s interviews are scheduled for April after being pushed back from March! We aren’t expecting on that basis to be called for interview before June/July so I think May might be a little optimistic 😕.

I think getting the jabs ASAP is in the interest of everyone personally so that’s what we shall be doing.

This is taken from another thread, interview dates and DQ date.....however as I say some have been pushed back to April already.

Mar 01  Jamie B (DQ Oct 08)

Mar 02  Jonathan Simpson (DQ Oct 16)

Absolutely! I want mine ASAP also. I’m thinking as long we have the proof of the first dose there shouldn’t be any issues if our second is the states. Thank for replying!

I would not wait.  However, you want to make sure you can receive the same vaccine for both injections.  I believe the AstraZeneca vaccine is not available in the US.

The safest answer would be for you to delay your trip to the US until you get your second dose. Get your visa, get your 1st dose. Wait to go to the US until your 2nd dose.

The 2nd dose of the AZ vaccine should be 22-90 days post the 1st dose.

@Amanda Hunt
I would get any shot I could into my arm at the soonest time/place offered.

Being in the UK, I hear you have to wait a longer interval time to receive dose 2. (My mum is waiting 3 months instead of 3 weeks on Pfizer dose 2.)

If your timing is super close for a jab and interview, and you know shots are readily available in the State where you are moving, then evaluate at the time all pieces are confirmed.  I think it’s too soon right now to know how it will play out. Currently in my metro area where vaccines are coming in big shipments weekly, it would still be hard to get just a second dose. The online registrations are just not set up that way and you don’t always know which vaccine your appointment is for. My appointment is tomorrow and I don’t know if Moderna or Pfizer.  Depending on the timing and your new state of residence you might have better luck starting in the US however getting a spot will be tough because they go quickly. With no National database like NHS, and states having different protocols, you may be on your own to scramble for a spot.

I agree if AZ is the option there.  My understanding is that AZ has not asked for approval in the US.

Hi @Southernboy123 - Very helpful summary here of the waiting times of other users. Would you be able to link to this thread? I'd like to follow it. We were DQd on Jan 5th 2021 so also keen to track waiting times (and good to know it might be june/july for us..!)

That’s the summary I made and posted in the UK Forum. Southern boy did not copy the latest update showing those cancelled and rescheduled. Go to the last post.

Hi i am not sure if this thread applies to me as I do not know what DQ means? Apologies if it doesn’t.

I applied for a returning resident visa (SB1) which was approved on 19th Jan. I submitted my application for the immigrant visa DS260 on 26th Jan. I am desperately waiting on a date for the visa as I have a job offer which is past due it’s start date.

My visa classification under FAQ is “other” which is currently not showing up as having any visa dates currently.

I’d like to give the job an indication of what timescales we are looking with the hope that they can wait. This is my dream job so I don’t want to loose it.

The above indicate it is a 4 month wait time? Would that apply to my situation too?

any assistance would be useful. Thank you in advance.

No. These are spouse visas. Different process.

London is processing IR1/CR1 spouse visas. Most other visas are on hold at this time.

DQ means they were Document Qualified at the National Visa Center (NVC) in the US. They submitted their DS-260, birth certificate, police certificate, affidavit of support I-864, etc and all were reviewed and accepted. Once DQed, they await the NVC to assign their interview date and transfer their case file to London. That wait is currently 4-5 months for London.

So there's ≈ 4-5 month time between DQ and interview in London?  Is that right?

That was info from March 2021, a year ago when things were slower.
