I am hoping the people of the Philippines when it comes time for elections, they get rid of these mayors / politicians who have kept their people locked down

Sara Duterte is one I hope gets canned and never makes it back to politics, she has turned Davao from a great place to a horrible place, never seen a city downfall so much in a few years.

Will never ever happen. Most live day by day and don’t care nor plan for the future. Through the years I have witnessed at local and national elections the massive vote buying in place. Anywhere from 200p to 1000p. That is more important to people especially in the province. And until you see it in action it’s not that easy to accept the money and vote for someone else.

The United States is now a country obsessed with the worship of its own ignorance.  Americans are proud of not knowing things.  They have reached a point where ignorance, is an actual virtue.  To reject the advice of experts is to assert autonomy, a way for Americans to insulate their increasingly fragile egos from ever being told they're wrong about anything.  It is a new Declaration of Independence: no longer do we hold these truths to be self-evident, we hold all truths to be self-evident, even the ones that arent true.  All things are knowable and every opinion on any subject is as good as any other.  The fundamental knowledge of the average American is now so low that it has crashed through the floor of "uninformed", passed "misinformed", on the way down, and now plummeting to "aggressively wrong."

I flew into Cebu last month.  Had to have a 1 week quarantine hotel reservation and pay for a covid test at the airport.  The hotel had to fetch me from the airport and that 10 minute ride cost me p575 set price.  Not a taxi.  On the fifth day a nurse came for the swab which surprised me on a Sunday.  On the sixth day the LGU picked me up from the hotel and drove me home (free) where I had 10 days house arrest which consisted of a local DOH person txting me every day for my temp.  My thermometer's broke so I made something up.  Even though the quarantine was not strict the fines for breaking it are high and being a foreigner, you don't want that on your record.  Border check points are gone and I was able to go to church in Cebu last Sunday.  Masks and shields are required in public places and you have to fill out a contact tracing sheet going into any store or business.  I see a lot of HabelX2 running without the stupid barriers.  You have to BYO helmet to ride Angkas.  There is a rule requiring masks/shields in cars if you aren't alone but I don't see that followed.

The quarantine/test requirements for domestic travel have been lifted, however, LGUs are still free to add their own rules should they see fit.  Check it out before you travel.

Thanks

For all the reason stated above is why there is no way I would go to Philippines until they get rid of all these silly rules
