A second woman has come forward to accuse New York governor Andrew Cuomo of sexual harassment in a move that has prompted the under-fire Democrat to launch an independent investigation into the allegations.

Charlotte Bennett, who was an executive assistant and health policy adviser in the Cuomo administration until November, told The New York Times that he had harassed her last spring, during the height of New York’s fight against the coronavirus – which Cuomo led and which at the time gave him an international reputation for good leadership.

Bennett told the paper Cuomo had asked her a series of inappropriate questions about her personal life, including age differences in romantic relationships, which she believed were sexual overtures. “I understood that the governor wanted to sleep with me, and felt horribly uncomfortable and scared,” Bennett told the paper.

Ms. Bennett said she had mentioned a speech she was scheduled to give to Hamilton students about her experience as a survivor of sexual assault. She said she had been taken aback by Mr. Cuomo’s seeming fixation on that element of her life experience.

Shaken, Ms. Ruch said, she later had to ask a friend if Mr. Cuomo’s lips had made contact with her face as she pulled away. The governor had kissed her cheek, she was told.

I see the image below and it feels too familiar, even if obviously I've never been harassed by Cuomo. I have been there, beneath the wandering hands of some man older or more powerful or richer than I am, assuming I welcome his touch because he is who he is and I am... who exactly? I know that strained smile of "help, get me out of here, but I don't want to embarrass this guy who can make things difficult for me" because I've worn it before. I've seen it on the faces of friends before. This man is a predator and will keep on doing what he's been doing because there haven't been any consequences before.

Whitmer can resign right after he and Newsome do.  Honestly, Cuomo is a bad person and a bad governor which was being pointed out to anyone who would listen back when he was killing innocent seniors with Covid, but whatever gets him out.  

 

I am wondering how Old Joe can actually make any comments on this item though, I guess the hypocrisy filter is the first thing one loses as they age.
