Waiting and waiting for U.S. Embassy response

We got our notice January 15 of K-1 approval.  Now its been nearly 45 days of silence.  They said we could inquire after 30 days if we heard nothing.  We did, and still nothing.  Really thought she'd be here by June, but now losing hope.  I know the next step is minimum of 3 months and we've lost 45 days already.  Anyone else going through this? She is in Kyiv and they never update the website.  Last update was November 15.  What gives?  We're so sick of the waiting! Makes it hard to plan anything, including her son's school here in the U.S.

Due to the pandemic they are months and months behind .  My guess would be end of year at the earliest

YMMV

We are unlikely to last that long due to distance.  I really hope you're wrong about this.  The amount of challenges we've already faced is incredible over nearly a year and a half now.

Hello!

USCIS, NVC and Embassies around the world are a crazy freak show right now.

Please, do not allow this pandemic situation to cause any damage to your relationship. It’s been a lot of time, money and dedication put on it.

Forward inquiries, call and, if that’s the case, get ahold of a tier 2 officer to get them to understand you’re in the loop and need your case to be moving to the next steps.

Hang tough and I hope my words may encourage you to stay strong.

fiancéSorry that the wait is taking a toll on your relationship. Many here are in the same position.

It's prudent to consider backup plans, as the visa is likely not going to be issued by June 2021. Backup plans may include meeting up in a third country to spend time together. Wish you the best.

If you are saying you are unlikely to last that long, then you may want to re-evaluate your relationship then.

Hey! I am sorry about what you feel. Totally get it as we are almost in the same boat (waiting for the embassy to reopen to schedule an interview). Try to get your case number from NVC via their inquiry page. It should be available already (usually takes 5-6 weeks for them to assign a number to a case). This way, you will be able to track your case and know when it gets to the embassy with the "ready" status. And please don't lose hope and don't get discouraged. It's extremely hard but in the end, it's totally worth it as you gonna spend the rest of your life with someone I believe you love very much.
Also, I know that people already schedule interviews for visitor's visa (which is the lowest priority) for this summer . So, I believe that the wait is not gonna be long for K-1s.

We were approved in March 2020 and have been waiting since then, during pandemic it's hard to predict when anyone can get their appointment for the interview, but you should stay strong and believe for better! Don't give up! So many couples are waiting!🌺

Usually it takes 6-8 weeks to get the NVC number, but currently all estimated timeframes have been extended. As I remember you can call NVC and email them as well to get that number. Did you have a chance to do that?

How do I do that? What is the number? So confusing.  My attorney is completely useless.  Its like I'm walking him through it and even I don't know.  Its all research on my part and he's an immigration attorney!

Look through the posts in Ukraine regional forums.  You are very lucky, actually.  Kyiv is one of the few embassies that have processed K1 visas in 2020.

Kyiv is officially closed since Nov 15, but people have been reporting of getting interviews scheduled this year.
