Thanks Carmel, believe me.. I live reality with all of that, know a lot about family law and have been there for years... and know all the challenges of that...I don't care even a penny about $ when it comes to immigration, whether we have 1 income or 2, we can survive on one for a start easily and I am not planning to sit and do nothing upon relocation   if I was to lose my job in Canada ..It all comes down to having family with someone you love and having your child by your side and being able to move ...all else will come!!

It is frustrating how  one thing in a way can be interconnected with the other but unless you do step one, you can't do step 2. unless you have court decision, you won't be able to move and have a job later in the country once you go through immigration ..but often courts say why would she move, she will lose her income here...while for me it is my future in a very long run...where family prevails over all else...I wish I could keep my employment and enhance my case but from what I read hear it sounds unlikely this is doable..

As a former Michigan resident I know plenty of people who live in the US and work for a Canadian company. I would just be sure that your taxes are being filed properly. It wouldn't hurt to do a little research or maybe legal consul on what effect if any will it have on your petition.

How many of those were immigrants with pending I-485s and no EAD?

i want to follow legal route as I don't want to ask my current company for anything that they can't legally fulfill for me in practice if stated in theory in letter

Ask your employer if they would be set up to pay you as a US resident. Applying for permanent residence in the US means you cannot claim Canadian residence for work, healthcare, etc.
