The passport photo tool I have seen in other threads on the DOS website has since been taken down. I am trying to resize my passport photos for myself and my husband and can't quite figure out how to get them 2x2. I try to do it in Microsoft word, which sizes them as 2x2, but then when I upload to my USCIS account, they look tiny and not the right size. They are high resolution and fit the criteria but the size is confusing me. How do I make sure they are 2x2? Will they show up that size digitally or only if USCIS prints them? (I realize this may be a dumb question, but I really can't figure it out lol).

Found love, thought I wanted this path, two years later realized my partner was not worth all the stress 😁

I have a few apps that edit photos that will do this and there are no end of tools available online, very much depends which system you are using, sounds like Windows? a quick google will find loads of options if you do have a suitable programme installed.

There are free apps for phones that make ID photos.  I just did it for my kids school ids last week, but my phone died and I'm not sure of the one I used.  It was a simple name, like ID Photo.  There are a few.  You just take a headshot, then position it perfectly, and it will crop it to your chosen size.

What you might be able to do it take a picture of your actual photo with your phone, and then make it 2 X 2 with the phone app.

Word is not an image manipulation program.  Paint would be a better choice but not necessarily a good choice

YMMV

I used GIMP to crop and resize photos. It's a free and powerful image manipulation program (like the open source version of Photoshop) but may not be for everyone if you haven't done much image editing before. Plenty of tutorials available, though.

I use a Windows program called paint.net which I like a lot.

If you're not familiar with photo editing tools, using a mobile app like @seekingthetruth mentioned is probably the easiest. Let us know if you've figured it out and what tool you used.
