i944 Household question

Hello all,

I am in the process of filing my wife's AOS application. A question regarding household portion of the i-944. Who should i included in my wife's household? My wife currently lives with my mother and I. Just to be clear, my mother does not support us financially as my income is already sufficient. She lives with us based on Vietnamese tradition. If that is the case, should i just dont include her on the form just so things will be easier?

Another question i have is the household income. My wife did not file taxes back in Vietnam. I have filed the 2020 Tax. Do I check Yes and list out my income as instructed in the example form from VJ?

It's  just gonna be you and your wife I think . You guys can be 2 separated households but living together.

but is your mother your dependant? do you support your mother or does she support herself?

She is not my dependent. She lives with us as it is one of those vietnamese traditions.

well in that case, as long as she's not your dependent for tax purposes, i don't think you should include your mom as a household member on the i-944
