Hi. I have a quick question. I am due to apply for my citizenship next month, I am currently in a relationship for 2 years now with my partner who is currently an overstayer. 
 

We are planning to get married soon, if we get married before I apply for citizenship, will it affect my application? Will he be in trouble since I have to put his name in the application form? Or its better that we wait til I get my citizenship, but I dont want them to think that we only got married because I got my citizenship..

As long as he doesn't have a deportation order and/or hasn't committed serious crimes, they are unlikely to care. What visa did he originally enter with? If he's got a complex case, then consult a lawyer. You COULD wait to marry until after your citizenship, but he's at risk of deportation. At the same time, there is no way for you to file for him sooner because overstay is only forgiven for immediate relatives of US citizens, not permanent residents.
