Father...Born US Citizen, lived in US 55 years

Mother...Dual US/Philippines citizenship, born in Philippines, lived in the states for 15 years

10 year old Daughter...adopted legally in the Philippines over 2 years ago

Both of us are living in the Philippines now with daughter

Daughter has Philippine passport with 10 year multi entry visa for The U.S.

Daughter spent 1 month in USA last year with us.

I will be filing an N-600K for her citizenship.  Once I file, will any paperwork be sent here in the Philippines to the U.S. Embassy?  She already has a visa and our permanent mailing address is in America.  The Embassy here is basically closed anyway because of Covid but I am wondering what the procedure will be once I file.  Can anyone tell me the basic process/timeline for this?

Thank You in advance

The embassy is not part of the process since you are not applying for an immigration visa.

When her USCIS appointment is set, the three of you book a flight to SFO and tell CBP that the purpose of the visit is the N600-K interview.  SFO because that station is less likely to be confused by the whole N600-K thing.

Be sure to bring everything the interview asks for, especially original adoption and birth records and bring photo copies.

Also even if the interview letter doesn’t say it, I advise bringing  two new passport sized photos for your daughter.

So I fill out the N-600K and send it in with a check and just wait for a response, most likely an interview date.  When we go to the interview, I then bring all the supporting documents with us such as birth certificate, adoption papers and passport photos.  We would actually enter at JFK and interview in NYC at 26 Federal Plaza.  I assume I request that on the N-600K.

Jan22, yes we will return to the Philippines to complete another adoption.
