Passport questions

Hi! I have been looking around the website for the past 3 months and have always been able to find an answer to my questions. I have a question that I have not seen, sorry if this has already been asked. I sent in the 129-f in mid March. My fiance and have a question regarding his passport. He is currently a refugee in the Netherlands, orginally from Liberia. His passport has expired and it also only lists his first and last name not his middle name. He wants to apply for a new passport and I have suggested that he go to the Liberian Consular in Belgium to renew the expired passport. He is concerned that this may cause a delay in processing the visa, since it doesn't have his middle intial and we listed his middle name on the 129-f. I don't think it is a problem, but I'm new to immigration so maybe he is right. I'm trying to save us money, it is more expensive to try get the new passport vs. renewing the expired one. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.

Is his middle name on his birth certificate if so it should be on his passport if not then there's no need to worry.

Well, he´ll need a valid passport anyway, so he better get one issued. And like Mike&Adele said, have his name be the same as in his birth certificate.

Thank you for the responses. We will need to go for the new passport because his middle name is on the birth certificate and not on the expired passport. So we will start working on that today.
