AOS Affidavit of Support Household

Hello, we are filling out the affidavit support for my wife. Under the household question, I didn't know what to put. It says put 1 for the immigrant I am sponsoring, 1 for spouse, 1 for me, 1 for any dependents. That comes to 4, but there is only 3 for our household- my wife, our son, and myself. So what do I put in this section? Thanks.

You're counting your wife twice.  The instructions says not to count anyone twice.  Put 0 for spouse.

I get that, but I was worried if I didn't put 1 in the spouse box, they would assume we weren't married. So don't count her twice. Got it. Thanks.

Read the questions again. Everything after number 2 are not being sponsored by the affidavit. If you put 1 for your spouse, you're basically saying that you're sponsoring and not sponsoring her at the same time.

 

The form is used for different applications, the spouse question would only be 1 if you were sponsoring a different family member.

Got it. So I still put 1 under the dependent children for our 1 son, correct?
