Hello everyone,

After our naturalization last year, we are proceeding to apply I-130 for my mother.

For the beneficiary, the form asks if the beneficiary was ever in the US in 'Immigration' section for beneficiary.  It asks  for the beneficiary's passport, travel document ( visa number) and expiry of passport.

Now my mother has visited US on visitor visa earlier.  The passport on which she travelled earlier as well as the visitor visa  both expired. And now she has a new foreign passport as well as a renewed US Visitor visa ( she has still not travelled with the new visitor visa).

So my question  is

1) For the beneficiary's passport - a) do i provide the current passport on which she has NOT travelled but is unexpired one Or B) The old passport on which she entered the US

Similarly,

2) For Travel document number, a) Do I provide the current US visa but she has not travelled on it or b) the old visa number on which she previously entered US.

Hope someone can guide me.

Thanks in advance.

Please reread the form.  That information is only required if the beneficiary is CURRENTLY in the USA

YMMV

I may be missing where it mentions this. I am filling online. And when I reach 'Immigration Information' tab for Beneficiary, this is what I see. I don't see a question if the beneficiary is present in the US ( maybe because I mentioned in the address section of 'Where does the beneficiary reside' and I answered with the foreign country).

Note: Do not answer the following fields if the beneficiary is not currently in the US:

  • Class of Admission
  • I-94 number
  • Date of Arrival
  • Date authorized stay expires

Leave those blank. Also, do not answer the following fields if the beneficiary is not currently in the US:

I don't even see those 4 fields ( maybe because I am indicating she is not residing in the US right now ??).

I just see following fields.image.thumb.png.0ffb732a58776683196f990d589ca177.png

Just a note that when it says "Travel Document" it doesn't mean visa. It means the following:

220px-Reiseausweis_Staatenlose1.jpg

United_States_Travel_Document_Cover_Page

Thank you for clarifying about the travel document.

But I still need to provide the passport and its expiry right ? I am guessing I'll continue with the current valid passport ??
