Just wondering how many people were "duped" into thinking they were in a actual relationship, just to find out shortly afterwards you were not....and were essentially used for a green card.

There is a possibility of preventing this from happening to anyone else....if we brainstorm and work together!!!!

Naysayers, please keep in mind that we petitioners spent considerable amounts spent time, energy and money, so be kind. And finally, any negativity is not appreciated here. If you haven't been in our shoes...how would you even know how we feel????

That makes perfect sense, I fell for the love bombing and actually met my husband's family...

Can you ask her if she'd be interested in filing a mandamus action or class action lawsuit or give her my information please?

Thanks for your response

She said No, she is not going to do that.  I would suggest you looking for an attorney that will do that for you.

Class action lawsuit?  Exactly whom will you sue????  By the time a spouse has entered the US, the petitioner has already provided a lot of evidence that there was no fraud.....

I am sure there is some fraud going on and people are being deceived, but the difficult part is having concrete evidence of this happening rather than a suspicion.  The USC for a spousal or fiancé visa is complicit in the entire process signing documents, etc., to bring their loved one(s) here, so any evidence of potential fraud has to be rock solid and possibly also show how the USC was deceived.

This is what USCIS says about this type of fraud

as both of you are responsible

https://www.ice.gov/sites/default/files/documents/Document/2016/marriageFraudBrochure.pdf

Penalties An individual will be charged with marriage fraud if they entered into a marriage for the purpose of evading U.S. immigration law. This felony offense carries a prison sentence of up to five years and a fine of up to $250,000, and applies to both foreign nationals and U.S. citizens who perpetrate this crime.

The Department of State warns all US citizens of marriage fraud and therefore protects the government and us ,  if we listen

Sorry that your marriage didn't work out and that you are in pain.

You know, my fiancé and I were worried about scams too. On both sides. It isn't always the US citizen who gets taken advantage of. We solved it by spending as much time as we could in person.

As bitter and difficult as this situation is, it hopefully serves as a cautionary tale not to rush into marriage.

I hope you find peace and healing.
