I petitioned my unmarried son (widower) who is over 21 and has a priority date of March 22, 2004. I recently received a letter of approval from USCIS. Does this mean I only have a short time to wait before my son can come over (given that my son will pass the interview and all that)?

approved I-130 will now "rest" at NVC until the priority date is close to become current... you'll be then contacted to fill out some more forms, and when that completed, NVC will send the petition to the consulat in your son's country around the time PD is current.
