I am sure some of you have experience about what happens after form i-130 is approved please share/guide your thoughts.

Receipt/priority date is getting closer so I want to know:

If I the portioner (parent) would have to go to Montreal Canada to accompany my daughter in the interview (or its case to case basis)

I read the steps & according to this website after a successful interview I have to file 'affidavit of support' and related forms

According to this NVC official website (I might have to be with her) this is a government website showing all the step for bringing your family member to USA on a Green Card.

This website covers everything step by step and seems like a good guide for someone like me.

Here is the website link: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration.html

Thanks in advance

Sam

You must file the I-864 Affidavit of Support and the DS-260 visa application before an interview will be schedule.

Depending on your child's age, the child can have a parent or guardian accompany the child to the interview.  How old is your child?

Thanks for reply, the daughter is not a minor she is over 21.

The visa interview will be for the adult daughter only.  The petitioner is not allowed to attend.

Looked up your other post;

It will probably be another year or two before your daughter's case will qualify to be processed further.

Once her PD becomes current in Table B of the Visa Bulletin, the NVC will contact you to pay the DS-260 and I-864 fees.  Then you submit the required documents.  Then the interview.

Follow this Guide: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-1-submit-a-petition/step-2-begin-nvc-processing/ceac-electronic-processing.html

I really don't know when our PD become current, I have a contact with another Visajourney contributor his PD was March 2017 (Same over 21 child of US permanent resident) he is a Canadian and also lives in Toronto Canada. His form i-130 got approved in November of 2020 So no one can never tell. He has sent me screen capture of USCIS approval. I am not sure how this thing works.

Thanks for the link, I am aware of this NVC website and following it up too.

The i130 being approved and the PD being current are two very different things. I130 approval just means uscis has reviewed the case and is satisfied the required family relationship exists. It can sit for years at NVC after that waiting for the PD to be current. A visa cannot be issued before the PD is current.

Your daughter's PD is not current.  It has never been current.  It may be current in another 2 years based on current trends in the F2b category.  Follow the monthly Visa Bulletin.

USCIS approving the I-130 is completely separate from the PD becoming current.

People can tell when a PD becomes current by following the monthly Visa Bulletin.  That's how it works.

Your friend has an approved I-130.  Like you, his/her child's PD is not current either.  This is easily discerned by looking at the monthly Visa Bulletin.

You may want to review the link I posted.  You are not understanding how things works.  The link clearly shows that the DS-260 and I-864 must be filed before the interview.  You posted that "after a success interview I have to file 'affidavit of support' and related forms" which is wrong.

The website tells you the most recent processing times for various uscis forms at the relevant service centers/field offices. It helps you get an idea of how long your case might take to process, though obviously timelines can and do change.
The receipt date for a case inquiry is the latest filing date for which they will accept an inquiry. If you try send a query for a case filed after that date you will just get a form response that it is within normal processing time.

Note this is just for the USCIS part and has nothing to do with NVC timelines.

Those are the estimated time ranges for service centers to process forms filed with USCIS.
