Hello,

I live in Houston and I filed for a family based Adjustment of Status and EAD in May 2020. I haven't received any news since July of last year. I have been trying to use the online tools to create a request for an outside processing time case but I haven't received any response... and calling the USCIS number is worthless because of the automated voice which doesn't allow me to talk to a representative. Is there anybody else in the same situation? Is this normal?

Is there any other number to contact USCIS?

Thanks!

When you call USCIS, ask for technical assistance at each prompt.  Members have reported success in reaching a human using that method.

What do you mean with no news? Not even a receipt notice? Or are you still waiting for biometrics? Or did you had them and heard nothing afterwards? Please fill out your timeline so it's easier to see where you are in the process and help a bit better 😊

When calling, try asking to schedule an appointment. This usually works for me.

We also filed in May and just barely had our biometrics interview last Friday, so there is hope. We found out our office (Salt Lake City) was closed for 6 months last year so I see why they were so backed up. I hope you hear back soon! Good luck :)
