You are talking about an investigation that came out of the Senate.  It is not really worth the paper it is written on.

We are sort of talking at cross-purposes here. There are IRS investigations (the sort I posted about in the post of mine you quoted), and there are Senate investigations (like the bipartisan one I linked to) and there has also been an IRS inspector general report. Neither of the latter two found that only Republicans were targeted, and the first doesn't really apply here.

I mean, we can shunt the goalposts around, but there really has been no proof that Obama directed the IRS to do some quite clearly really inappropriate stuff. Not just no proof, those allegations were dismissed. We can't just say, I don't accept X as true because I don't want it to be, and I'll accept Y to be true without proof because it suits what I believe. That's confirmation bias.

I try to have an open mind, and when I see something that looks bad for someone I might normally support, I'll look into it. I don't assume it's a lie, even if I want it to be. People suck, even people we like. And vice versa -- as I said earlier this week, if Ted Cruz was doing something to help out in Texas, I'd say, good on him. And I did! And I still really dislike Ted Cruz! :D

So with your open mind, how do you feel about an administration using the FBI to spy on a political rival?
