I applied for NVC expedite and the embassy approved. Our case was sent to the embassy. The CEAC status now shows "Ready".

What are our next step? Should we wait until embassy contact us or can we contact them to step up an interview date?

The next step is to gather all your family and friends, hire a DJ,  load up on alcohol and have the celebration party of a lifetime .... Congratulations to you :)  I'm envious.

Do you mind sharing the details on how you applied?

I applied to the Embassy and they sent me to NVC, then I applied at NVC and they told me I need to go to the embassy.

I emailed NVC on Feb 8th using this email: NVCExpedite@state.gov and explained my situation/reason for expedite .

I got an email back from NVC on Feb 16th saying they are reviewing my case

Then another email from NVC on  Feb 23rd saying embassy approved and that NVC will sent my case to embassy soon

If your case is with NVC, I suggest you email NVC. Then if you don't hear anything in a week or so, call them.

This is helpful. Have you received your interview letter from the embassy?
Does NVC still say Ready?

Thank you. I did call the NVC and the lady I spoke to told me expedites are approved by the Embassy only and the embassy would have to request my case be sent from NVC. I hope I just got someone new who was misinformed, because based on everybody's experience on this forum the NVC reviewed expitied cases (yourself included).

I´ve read that one must email this address for an expedite:

NVCExpedite@state.gov

This is straight from the government website:

No not yet. I am still waiting on a date. Embassy asked us to drop off couple documents. So we did that. They said once they review the documents they will contact us regarding medical and interview date. (fingers crossed)

Take note that you and the OP have different visa categories.  There's a big difference in the processing done by NVC for K1 and for CR1.  CR1 cases, like the OP's, normally undergo document qualification by NVC, which could take weeks or months.  For K1 cases like yours, there's no such document screening.  NVC just assigns case numbers and waits for the embassy to confirm when they have K1 interview slots available.  Hence no NVC processing to expedite for K1.

Thanks, I received an email from NVC today saying that my request is under review. So it sounds like they will contact Manila Embassy to review my request.
