If you move, I don’t think the reminder will follow you to your new address. Any address changes with USCIS do not change that ROC reminder. It seems to be a fixed address in its own alternate universe or at least that’s how it used to be. We moved and my reminder went to the original POE and AOS home address. The new owner has my details and texted I had mail that seemed to be from immigration. I told her to open it (suspecting it was the reminder). It was and I told her she could bin it. Just remember to apply before before Sean’s greencard expires (2 years from whatever date ends up on the soon to be approved card). And 3 years from that date on card, he is eligible for citizenship as long as he stays married to the USC who petitioned him. Otherwise five years.

Thank you! Yes, he mentioned we have to let them know asap if we buy a house or move. He was very concerned we knew that. so 90 days from the day they approve it or we get it in the mail? its the 751 right? he has to wait another 3 years from the green card date or i thought it was 1 year plus the 2 on this first green card we are getting now?

I said if you move you won’t get the removing conditions reminder even when you give USCIS the required change of address. You have to remember removing conditions if you move.

Examples if your greencard approval is recorded as Apr 1, 2021:

  • The card will have the date Apr 1, 2021 as “resident since” date.
  • Card expires Apr 1, 2023 (2 years). Apply for Removing conditions within the 90 days preceding Apr 1, 2023
  • Eligible for US Citizenship April 1, 2024 (3 years) if still married to petitioner. Can apply 90 days prior to Apr1, 2024 or wait as long as you want or never apply. Optional.
  • If not still married to petitioner, Eligible for US Citizenship April 1, 2026. Optional.

Got I551 Stamp : it has this when i was updating our timeline. what is that for?

It proves you are a permanent resident until you get the plastic card in the mail. i551 is the “document” name for the physical greencard and the stamp is a temp proof good for a year.

People entering on Spouse visas get them at POE to show until their greencard and Social Security cards arrive in the mail. Sometime those get delayed. Some people lose their cards and replacement takes a long time. They would make an info pass appointment at USCIS to get the stamp if they needed to travel abroad without the physical card.
