I just don't trust her.

Its not like there's exactly a choice as Hillary is the only woman candidate running. Obama is much the same being the 'black' candidate - but just because he's black it shouldn't imply that this is a major reason to vote for him, or indeed that black voters will automatically vote for the black guy.

Oh I really like Obama, and his race is incidental. I think he could be a very strong candidate.

What I was getting at is that - when he first announced his candidacy the idiots on network news vox-popped a few black people on the street to ask if they would be voting for Obama. I found that a little off - because there's an unspoken assumption that race does (or should) play a role in a person's reasoning for voting (e.g. I don't care if he's for amnesty - it's more important to support him because he's black). Ridiculous - like voting for someone because they have blue hair.

I would vote for a woman; just not Billary.

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

Problem is that that's exactly what does seem to happen alot of the time; in many facets of society. I grew up in the UK and when I first came here to the States ( age 23) it was shocking to me how divisive society still seemed to be here over race. It seems to be a major factor in everything and if I needed futher illustration of this .....the Rodney King beating and the OJ trial happened....well, you see where I am going with this, no?

But I agree it IS ridiculous to vote based entirely on colour/gender or anything other than what the candidate stands for.....

I'm not sure there is one candidate out there that makes me feel that they are the one I would vote for. I don't care for Giuliani. John McCain is ok, but he's getting up there in age. Mitt Romney is about the only Republican I would consider voting for. As far as on the Democratic side, I am not sure either Obama or Edwards would garner enough votes. I would consider voting for either but, I think the American people see them and think "too young and inexperienced." I know a lot of people don't care for Hillary Clinton, but I think she may make a good candidate. She's spent 8 years in the presidential office with Bill, so out of all the candidates, she would have the most experience.

There's just that annoying little detail about needing to be a U.S.A. native to be elected President. Otherwise I'd say, "VOTE for NESSA!" :P

I would vote for a woman, but I am not voting for Hilary.

I am not sure whether the US is ready. I think it could happen, but there'd have to be more female candidates to choose from. So far we have only one, on one side of the political spectrum.

India has had a woman Prime Minister, and one of the top ppl in politics over there is a woman, a non-native to India even (Sonia Gandhi, Italian). The US has much better opportunities and equality for women I believe, so if India could handle having a woman in power, why not the US?

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)
