I had a interesting conversation with my aunt the other day regarding the Presidental Candidates..

Is America &/or world READY to bring a WOMAN into office??? .. Now I know there is the Queen of England.. And I am NOT that sure if there are any other woman leaders?.. but.. and I find this interesting especially when asking Other woman.

my aunt said "If it was anyone OTHER than Hilary Clinton I would NEVER vote for a woman.. But.. (yada yada ya etc)"

And the wheels are turning to how She could FIX America.. and how the rest of the world would interact with Her as a President of the United States

What do YOU think?!

There have been many world leaders that have been women.

Is the United States ready for a woman president? heck no!

There are plenty of other countries who have/had female leaders. Currently there are 12 countries with female leaders:

Ireland, New Zealand, Latvia, Finland, The Philippines, Bangladesh, Mozambique, Germany, Liberia, Chile, Jamaica, and Switzerland.

I'm not sure that America is ready though. America hasn't been ready for a minority president. Hell, having a Catholic president was a big deal :)

I don't say this because I'm against a female president, but rather because I believe that unfortunately, we are still a country with a large number of people who believe that women shouldn't have a position of high power.

course, it also depends on the woman too.

I like Hillary, but I don't know that many people would vote for her.

But, imho, at this point, I'll take just about anything to replace the last 7ish years of leadership.

I will not vote for Hilary Clinton... she doesnt uphold most of the core values and morals that I do and believe in.... actually not many of the men running for office do either (on both sides)... but I definitely do NOT support the Clintons

Im very conservative

I voted yes. Is America ready for a woman president?

hmmmm I am definitely ready! But, wait a minute! I AM the people, right? hehehee

Seriously though, Hilary would get my vote for the following reasons (even if they sound dumb, cause I am not a fan/follower of politics) :

It seems to me that, since Bush has been in office, everyone has been miserable. Maybe everyone is projecting and blaming him for their unhappiness, the war, etc. But, I long for the days we used to have. Even if the people didn't respect Bill's morals, they didn't openly loathe him the way people hate Bush. (not that I remember. ok? i'm not the best judge here)

Between Hilary and Bill, they have already experienced the White House. I think they know eachother's strenghts and weaknesses and they make a great team. They complimented eachother well in that environment.

I don't know if I would have still voted for her if they were divorced right now. Does that make any sense? It's kind of like I would want my vote to put the PAIR of them back into the White House.

haha.. dont get me wrong..

But if there ever was a woman canidate that Could pull it off.. i think it is her.. And I also think with her being with Bill.. she has met enough of the world leaders to have a good networking/ reputation.

If a random woman senator.. without the background like Hilary's.. started running for pres.. you really think she would be taken seriously? by the american people and the other world leaders?

Im very conservative

I've definitely become more conservative over the years, but I'm still pretty liberal. At first I was really reluctant to even consider Hillary as a candidate, but I've done a bit of research on her and she's fairly conservative actually. Many of my very liberal friends dislike her because she's more conservative, and many of my conservative friends hate her, just because she's a Democrat.

I always have a tough time when it comes to picking a candidate b/c my values don't fit nicely into one party or the other. I tend to go with the candidate and what he/she can do because we've seen that what they 'stand for' doesn't always get translated into action once the election is over. For me, it's tough. It's hard to find a candidate who is anti-abortion, but also anti-death penalty. Who is for lowering taxes but also for environmental protection (and really for it, not just says they are). I could go on, but I just hijacked this thread, so I probably shouldn't :)

Couldn't care less about the sex of the candidate. I'm only interested in their political views. No way in he11 would I vote for Hillary.

I agree with you with most of this... Its a tough one.. At first I didnt even pay attention to her.. but now my ears have perked up. And again I would vote for who was closest to supporting my issues..

But.. I dont know if she'd be just a weak link cause she's a SHE
