"Submit a copy of the birth certificate or other primary birth record issued by the appropriate civil authority for the applicant. USCIS will only accept a long-form birth certificate which lists at least one parent"

We had already submitted copies of the official birth certificate (which does not need to be translated because it is already in both languages with official stamp on it). Is it possible they lost it when they opened our packet (containing I-130, I-485, I-131, and I-765)?

Sometimes it happens.  I've gotten RFE's for paperwork I know I previously submitted.  Its frustrating, but it's just beat follow the instructions in the RFE

Do you suggest calling the USCIS to ask whether there was an issue with the one I submitted? They do mention the long original birth certificate. The one we submitted was the copy of the original but I had resized it to letter size when making copies.

What you describe sounds like a NADRA certificate, which is A4 sized.  You should be able to print it on a letter sheet without much issue.  Just send it again.

Yep, it is the NADRA certificate. Okay, will do. I guess they misplaced or lost the certificate when opening our packet.
