Yep, the characters in DC on both sides of the aisle as well as the bureaucrats have left me very cynical as to their motives.  No one elected does something without expecting something in return.

  Honestly, haven't seen AOC do anything to politicize this, and it would be very easy to do. That's not to say she won't gain some political capital from it, but she's not out there tooting her own horn.
