All right--I was wondering if anyone would be able to post examples of cover letters for the I-130. :) I know there's one for the 1-129 in the examples section, but none for the I-130. So yeah, examples would be really appreciated!

Also, for supporting evidence, so far all my husband and I have is a copy of our marriage certificate and a paper from the bank saying on on his checking and his savings account. Is this enough to send with the package, or should we try to find something else? The only other option for us would be a couple pictures of us together, and possibly 2-4 signed affidavits.

Thanks, all!

Every newly wed couple has trouble with evidence.

I think what you have will be fine, and if they want more they will ask for it.

Be sure and save other supporting evidence up until your interview.

During the next year you will likely have more things you can present at the interview if needed.

Utility bills, phone logs, credit cars.. all that stuff.

Thanks everybody! :) As usual, you've been very helpful.

As far as bills go, since my husband and I won't be able to live together until I get my Visa, we won't have any joint bills. But by the time we get an interview, I'm sure we'll have evidence like letters/cards/emails and such. :)

For now, you can send affidavits from family members (that you are married and they were present at your marriage) with your I-130. Save all your communication records (phone, email, letter, cards) and pictures for the immigrant visa interview.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
