I filed my petition with the form for electronic notification of receipt at the lockbox in Lewisville TX in Dec 2020. My package was received on Dec 29. Still no receipt. Check still not cashed. Like others on this thread, I’ve called to no avail (need a receipt number to check status) and sent an email to USCIS. Still nothing. And now the winter storm in TX (as if we needed more crises to further collapse our already collapsed systems). I’ll post here with updates as I have them so others can deduce likely timeframes.

The storm appears to have not slowed things down. WAC21900# are being assigned at what seems to be a good pace (~228 in just the last 5 hours today although that's everything, not just I-129F) and today I've seen several Dec 14 I-129Fs. At this pace I think we're still probably 2 weeks from seeing them get to the end of December.

does anyone know when embassies will begin processing visas?

That varies widely per IV unit.

1 hour ago, M&JBogota2020 said:

And if there’s any centralized plan to start doing so via online platforms (video interviews, etc)?

Nope. Must appear in-person per 22 CFR § 41.102(a).

The US embassy in Bogotá has very little information on their website and they stopped processing visas back in MARCH!

Bogota has slowly started doing a few interviews for applicants that had canceled interviews:

Ok.  So I received my Noa1 for my Brazilian fiancé on March 10, 2021 and is located niw at the CALIFORNIA center. .  Sooner than I expected (although took 3 months).  SO far we have waited about 2 months for the  for the NOA2.  I have looked at the projected adjudication time on VJ and for the last few weeks it showed an adjudication date from October 5.  But today says late november or beginning of December.

I believe I already know the answer, but neady to adk anyway for my own peace of mind.

Is there an accurate way to find out the status of your petition?   It just seems that all the information i find describke little tidbits of information but with no answers.

You can check the USCIS estimate for I-129F processing here -- https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

But no way to track the status of individual cases.

Have you joined the monthly thread for when you filed your petition? A lot of the threads have a few super amazing people who are going through the case tracker app and putting together a table of approved cases so far to help track the process. October and September both have excellent ones right now.

That is probably one of the easier ways to get a gauge on where your application is. Other than that it will basically stay quiet until it comes time for others in your month to be processed. At the moment they are finishing up September and doing the first 2 weeks of October. I used that to gauge my hopeful progress as we are December filers and have assumed we have another 2 or so months to go.

best thing to do is distract yourself with work, hobbies friends etc and don’t let yourself check the status every single day. Maybe every fortnight. Because at this stage unless they all develop super powers over there at USCIS nothing will happen except trudging forward slowly lol.

sorry for the essay! :D

we last saw each other: March 2020
I-129F sent: 12/24/2020

USCIS received: 12/29/2020

NOA1 notice date: 2/27/2021

NOA1 receipt date (backdated): 12/28/2020

NOA2: 08/11/2021

NOA2 paper copy: 08/18/2021

NVC received: 08/25/2021

NVC number issued: 09/01/2021

The essay was perfect and appreciated.  I am grateful for you taking the time to answer my question.  I am a January 21, 2021 filer.

Received my Noa1 March 10th.  I Know there is a long waiting period but wasn't sure if I cN get a better handke on where CA is on sending NOA2 notices as I havent seen any movement on the orocessing dates on VJ.  It seems it is stuck on Octover 2020 and it says they iodate every month.  Thanks again.  Being patient here just highly curious.

Join us!
I tend to circle around the September 2020 K1 filers forum when Jobbin posts the September numbers.

Also make sure to fix your timeline. NOA-1 should be the received date Jan 21.
