We are documentary qualified from NVC but when I inquired with Barbados embassy about an interview date they stated they needed our spousal visa application first and they do not see the number. So I called NVC and they said they aren't sending any US Citizen CR1 visa applications to Barbados embassy at this time as they are not accepting interviews since January 2021. But their website states they resumed services for CR1 visas and emergency situations. When I spoke to Barbados they said nothing about not accepting visa interviews. Is this normal??? Anything I can do??

Websites aren't always immediately updated. Probably still backlogged.   Nothing you can do is wait. NVC schedules an a first in first out basis.   You do not get to schedule directly with the consulate

Barbados is on a shutdown. Interviews were cancelled in January and February. We are still waiting to be rescheduled

Thank you!! Whenever I directly contact the embassy they do not say that.  They say they are in limited processing.  This was super helpful! Fingers crossed we all get one soon!!

Is there any update from the embassy yet? It's been a very long wait

My last correspondence with the embassy was Monday March 15 and they just said "All immigrant visa services remain suspended due to Covid 19"

No end in sight 😭

But it makes zero sense... I did read the medical university in Barbados is expecting a return of their students in 6 weeks which will surely have an impact.  😭

Oh my! This is sad. I have been following Barbados covid 19 updates and the cases are down. I was thinking that would make the embassy to reopen. Well, let's keep being hopeful it will be over soon.

The number are down and the number of vaccinations way up... I'm not sure what is going on there. But waiting seems to be getting really hard on our kids which is the absolute worst. The embassy is open and they are apparently processing non immigrant visas without visa interviews. So I don't understand really but it feels like they are not prioritizing immigrant visas like they were directed to do...

A lot of embassies are reopening next month.  I hope Barbados reopens next month too because it is also getting frustrating on my side as we were on Muslim ban and now have to wait this long again.

The waiting and the unknown is so hard and scary. I think if they are going to have interviews in April I think we would get one scheduled this month so I'm not sure about next month but I pray so.

I heard that is being done but limited. They are back logged. So I am thinking they want to clear those whose interviews were cancelled before scheduling new ones. Although I am yet to confirm the information.

That's what I'm thinking too, but if they have an influx of students coming in 6 weeks then we are looking at later than May... this is such a poor situation they are creating.
