I know my thread is a  bit dead at the moment but I feel like I should update in case someone runs into the same situation:

As of the moment the package still has NOT moved (in transit, arriving late status since 2/15). I went into the post office to see what's up and they have told me that they don't know why it hasn't moved and gave me a number for Consumer Affairs. I called and left a message with them. I also left an email with the USCIS lockbox team to ask them what I should do ("should I send in another package with UPS or just wait with USPS") and I have yet to hear anything back.

We also used the Emma chat with the representative and were asking about what to do in this situation but the agent kept speaking in the language of as if our package was already there. ("It will take us up to 90 days to scan your documents into the system. That's normal right now.")

Very canned response not really related to our situation. It's like, well, it will take up to 90 days to scan our documents to the system when you even receive it which you haven't yet!

And when we asked the USCIS rep whether or not to send in a duplicate they told us outright "no, because you will be charged twice."

I will continue to update as I find things out.

@alv&josh so I got off the phone with consumer affairs and he told me that they are getting calls back to back about stuff like this lately. In fact just yesterday USPS issued a statement that they are so backlogged that they are rescinding any guarantees and refunds. They are sub contracted with Fedex and all the planes at the Memphis airport are being delayed due to icy runways. “The Midwest is a mess right now” is what he [the representative] said. They have a significant backlog due to the storms. He told me if I don’t see any movement by Friday or Monday to give them a call back.

He assured me that most likely my package is not lost or damaged but just along with the normal delays.

I'm waiting for two packages to arrive. Both running late but still in transit. One made it out of the Memphis area to Atlanta and the other one is stuck in Tennessee. It truly is a mess up there.

The husband had send me flowers for Valentines day. The flowers arrived Wednesday after and the chocolate just last Sunday. Both with FedEx so it's not only USPS who's in trouble atm.

Did you sent a check to pay for the fees? If so I would probably cancel the check now and send the package again if you have all the documents you need. Worst case both packages arrive but the one with the canceled check will get rejected when USCIS can't cash it.

After sending the first package on 1st february which is still in transit ... I have sent the new package through UPS yesterday which was deliverd today at 10am ( Used next day delivery service) because my wife's conditional GC is expiring on 26th March so we had no choice because even USCIS is taking 35 to 40 days send the NOA

So we have applied for USPS package intercept service if that doesn't work than we will stop the payment for the First package. So it will get rejected from USCIS.

Thank you and I totally get your frustration, I'm literally on the same boat, my I-94 is expring on march 3rd, people say not to freak out but honestly I wanted to have everything there before it expires. I went to the office of USPS, they said they will give me my money back but first the package needs to arrive. I also have copies of everything and will have to pay for more marriage certificate copies, and passport pictures, but it is so frustrating, I regret using USPS so bad! I did a little research but didn't find this topic ugh. I following this one to get updates to see how is your case going, I will let you know everything.

Mine it still says In Transit:

Yes! I am going to probably give it until the end of this week to call Consumer Affairs again. I am noticing more and more threads popping up on this site about this. I'm on a subreddit that deals with a lot of USPS packages and there are a lot of the same frustrations but just this week people with similar timelines are starting to report movement with their packages. I'm going to hold off for a bit and hope that patience will pay off. If no movement by next week I'm going to start putting the paperwork together.

Given the problems that they are having with the weather I hope that cutting a little more slack and having patience will pay off in the end. Hopefully Chicago also does something about their regional hub as well. I've seen in the news that they are getting politicians involved in how slow the mail is turning out from the POs in Chicago. People that live in the chicago area are reporting delays up to a month for things like paper bills and other parcels. They did an audit of September last year of the Chicago Post Offices and found that there was around 60k pieces of delayed mail just sitting there.

What is the USPS package intercept service and how can you apply for that? I think I'm going to give our package a little bit more time in hopes that it shows up but I think UPS is our next option if USPS doesn't work out. Did you do UPS overnight air?

We thankfully sent a personal check with our package for this kind of situation should it be lost in the mail and we need to send it again.

@alv&josh Yes; so many people are in the same boat right now with their parcels. I really hope that we both have some answers soon. Our timelines are very similar in terms of when we sent our stuff out. Hopefully in our case it is just due to these winter storms. I bet you anything your package is just waiting in line to get on a plane to memphis which is backed up right now. I think it'll start moving this week. I'm not sure about mine because I'm so far west.

We did the Form for Credit Card Transaction, so I dont think we can cancel that, and send everything over will be horrible since the medical examination form was original sealed by the doctor. I can't focus on anything so far, its been soo frustrating

If the USPS intercept your package they will send your package back to you but if you have time wait until 35 days before GC is expiring. Yes, I used UPS overnight

Can you ask the doctors office for another one? The doctor we went through said that they can reprint ours, just for a $25 printing fee. I've been really psychologically distressed by all this as well. I had two dreams that last week that I was getting text notifications that our package was moving and when I'd wake up it wasn't true 😑

I'm not sure about what to do when it comes to the credit card transaction but I would definitely ask your bank to give you a personal check next time you send it if that's what you choose to do. That way if something happens again then you can cancel that check.

I'm just so glad that I didn't go with a cashier's check this time as I did with the I-129F. That is like cash and you can't get that back no matter what!

@dhajay Good to know! Thank you. I almost wonder if it has even left my hub so maybe that would be the better thing to do in my case should it not move in the next week. That way I don't have to put everything together again. The mail seems to be pretty good locally where I'm at. But anytime we get something out of state everyone is complaining that things are not moving well.
