Bah, apparently they're ok to freeze to death to make a "statement".  If they don't care, I won't.

Most working class people don't have the means or real estate to have standby generator power to last 4 days. And if they did they cannot build their own water supply, cell tower, on and on. These people paid their bills.

If the marketplace cannot get the job done, take the utilities coop and pay the surpluses to the ratepayers.

Great excuse.

BTW, coming from the North, alcohol is real bad to keep you warm.  It's just an illusion.

1.  have a portable generator

2.  google how to purify water with household bleach

3.  not sure a cell tower is as necessary as electricity or water/food.

This is very true and a good reminder.

I think it's possible that the guy was overwhelmed by the pressures on him, had a few, and snapped.

Very possible. It's unfortunate he couldn't bring himself to issue a proper apology (instead of a weasel-word apology) to his constituents, but he did the right thing by stepping down.

I just don't understand your comment. It seems like you're suggesting that his only course of action was to post that screed. So I'm asking you, do you think his behavior was appropriate?

I suppose political spin would have been much more to everyone's liking.

about 5 (runs on gasoline)

but wait, there's more!  i also have 4 5 gallon gas cans and a 2.5 gallon.........

as my heat comes from propane, all i need is enough to run the blower on the heater.  so alternating run times of an hour on, 2 hours off, so i could run for several days on 22.5 gallons.
