J1 visa : DS-2019 cancellation

Hi,

I am currently an au pair and my J1 visa expires soon and I just got married.

But a few months ago I had applied to extend my J1 visa (which i don’t want to do anymore since I’m married and I can’t work anyway) and I jut got an email stating that the extension was accepted (and that my J1 is extended until the end of the year) so they just sent me a new DS-2019. My question is: i will contact the DEPARTMENT OF STATE to cancel this new DS-2019, but when I fill out the paperwork for my AOS, do I have to put this one in? Since it’s cancelled.

Because I feel like If I put this new DS-2019 in my AOS application, it will only make things look more complicated than they are.

Thanks for your help!

You should have answered in the previous thread you created.

I told you there that you have (1) Call the au pair agency (2) Figure out if your J1 has the 2 year residency requirement. (3) You cannot call DOS to cancel a J1. You have to put that in the AOS package. Why would it make matters more difficult?

Thanks for your answer.

2) 3) I called the Au Pair agency and they cancelled my DS-2019. 2) No 2 years residency!

so then, my DS-2019 is cancelled. Should I still include it?

Yes! You will have to list every visa you had like ever and all of your previous passports.

You cannot work as an au pair anymore or as anything else until you get your EAD (work permit). You need to fill out the paperwork ASAP. There are gives on this forum and you can ask questions about forms and paperwork in this thread.
