Hi all,

On Day 91 I received what is known as the "70 Day letter" telling me they would not be getting my Green Card to me within the 90 Day DORA timeframe and that if I wanted I could file for my EAD and AP by sending them to the Chicago lockbox like everyone else does. When I filed my AOS I was told you don't file for EAD and AP as supposedly you get your GC in 90 days so no need to file for EAD and AP. My advice to anyone is to file them anyway unless you really want to take your chances.

The lady I talked with wasn't very nice.......very abrupt and cold, not friendly at all. I told her I was under the understanding that if you got the "70 day letter" you would get an appt date to go back to the office to file there in person for your EAD and AP and that it basically was approved that day and that you would get your cards for them within a week or so. First off she told me my AOS is stuck in FBI name check and secondly that no one would have ever told me not to file for my EAD and AP at the time I file for my AOS....that it's my own fault that I have to now wait another approximately 3 months for my EAD and AP......how rude! .... she said some offices have the machine and the manpower to issue cards the same day but that they didn't in Oklahoma City.

So basically I'm hooped...... have to wait again for another couple months for EAD and AP when I could of probably had them already.

So to anyone out there filing with the DORA program........ you do have a choice if you want to file only for AOS or for all 3..... AOS, EAD and AP.

I read your post, and it is exactly the same they told me. So, finally I send mu application to EAD too even though I know that it will be a waste of money 99% sure cos I will get the CG before 3 months, but....

The thing I decided is make another appointment again in 2-3 weeks if nothing happens.

Good Luck and if something happen I am put it in this forum
