Hi VJ’ers,

after receiving our NOA1 we are patiently waiting until the 6month month mark in March to hear about our NOA2. I saw here as well as several other places to file our I-129F packet at the TX service center but I am now seeing that they aren’t even processing K-1 visas but California is?! Is there something we can do? Should we resubmit to the California center? If anyone has tips or advice we’d love to hear it.
Thanks!

Everyone files at the Dallas Lockbox. Most cases are then assigned to California Service Center and a few to Vermont Service Center. See the bottom left corner of the NOA1:

These days it’s rare to see a 6 month long processing time. It’s more like 8 months. You can check the processing times here https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

if it’s past the date on your notice, you can file outside normal processing time request.

No such thing as submitting directly to a service center

YMMV

The Dallas Lockbox isn't a service center. Everyone's petition starts there and then gets sent to the appropriate service center (i.e. you did it right, don't worry).

Hi!
We just filed form I129F and just found out that because petitioner is from Maryland the case will go to Vermont where processing times are 20 months.
If so this will be unbearable...any help on advice on this?
I saw some are from NY and it says case in California...
Thank you
Paulo

Where did you hear this? Vermont Service Center is only for special cases (it's not regional).

Incorrect.  Processing center assignment is not based on petitioner's state of residence.

99% of I-129Fs are adjudicated at the CSC.   Those that go to Vermont require additional criminal background checks.

Saw it here https://www.americanfiancevisa.com/city-specific-k-1-visa-guide/maryland-baltimore/ and in another website, but already was told that that info is wrong.
Thank you!
