Good afternoon!

I see that recently the US embassy for Morocco recently updated its website to state that they are now processing K-1 visas again. I’m curious if anyone who filed after the shutdown due to COVID has gotten a interview date yet or are they only currently working on people who had a appointment at the beginning of last year and was canceled due to the shutdown? Just curious how long of a wait it is for the paperwork to be sent from the NVC to the embassy.

Where did it say that?

they interviewed 5 VJ members in January for K1 but none are listed for February

Looking at the the site under News and events and under visas ,  i don't find this

to your question ,  when they do resume interviews it will be the ones in order of the ones they receive

and when you receive the notice from NVC that yours has gone to Casa,  you will go to the site (as listed in the notice) to schedule the interview

there will be a letter to take to the dr for the medical exam

you will also need the 2 criminal reports (fiche anthropomtrique  and casiers judiciaires ) but not too early as one of them is only good for 90 days

Hello!

Thank you for the information. I saw the information about K-1 visas on this page. If you scroll down it says “is also processing k visas.”

This notice has been on the site for a long time

Immigrant Visa Appointments:  The Consulate General is currently processing immigrant visas in the following categories:  IR1, CR1, IR2, CR2, and IR4.  The Consulate General is also processing K visas.  For any U.S. visa-related questions, please contact our Visa Support Center: 05-20-48-50-13 (in Morocco); 1-703-520-2245 (from the U.S.); support-morocco@ustraveldocs.com

To aid you with your query,  processing is not the same as scheduling new interviews

They have been working as much as possible on the ones that were in AP (processing) with a skeleton staff

When they restore all interviews,  you will see it accounced on   the TV,  in the newspapers and in the news feed on the embassy site

They have done a few interviews but when the China vaccine turned out bad and they had to reinforce the need for a paper to travel from city to city,  they seem to have stopped new appointments

But you can use the above phone # or email and ask /  can't hurt

The recent K-1 interviews in Casablanca that I have seen have all been cases that were being sent to and processed by the NVC during the early months of the pandemic (February/March 2020). Like Jeanne mentioned above, they are slowly working on cleaning the backlog, but it's going to take some time. The consulate also started using a new K-1 specific email for K-1 inquiries - K1Casablanca@state.gov.

If you are going through the visa process and will be interviewing in Casablanca, Morocco, join us over at the

Yeah that is good to know. Hopefully they start with the ones after March soon so there isn't even a bigger delay.

Hello! Yes Casa is scheduling K-1 Interviews. I spoke with the consulate today and they informed me that they have requested new cases from the NVC. A women on the Moroccan Visa Journey fb group confirmed this and showed that her case at the NVC has been sent to Casa as of today. Her NOA1 was December 2019 and her NOA2 was the end of March 2020. The consulate backlog has been cleared and they now are working on the NVC backlog.

Additional update: some people with NOA2’s from April-November have been sent from the NVC to the consulate. My NOA2 is 11/13 and I’m expecting an interview within the next couple months.

That’s wonderful news! I’m so excited to hear that. At least it’s moving fast.
