Quick one my VisaJourney family,

I have a joint sponsor for my petition and am wondering if I will still need to tender my tax returns when we get to that phase.

I spent almost 8 months out in 2019 and 11 months during 2020 with my partner. So my tax returns for those years aren't pretty.

Thanks for your feedback.

Even if you have a joint sponsor, you are still the primary sponsor and your tax returns or transcripts are necessary unless you weren't legally required to file.

However, if the only thing "not pretty" about yours is that you didn't make very much, and your sponsor has sufficient income and/or assets to support you both, you should be fine.
