Work permit

Hi

 

My husband is US citizen and my I- 130 application has been approved. Documents have been submitted to NVC also. I am waiting for the interview. Just wanted to know after getting my visa would I be able to work in the United States without any waiting time?  Is there any other application/form for getting the work permit?

Yes.  As a legal resident, you are authorized to work immediately upon entry.....although you will need your Social Security number to be paid by most employers.

It's recommended to pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee after getting the visa: https://my.uscis.gov/uscis-immigrant-fee

 

Your endorsed Immigrant Visa is a I-551 document while you wait for the Green Card. You may be able to work while waiting for SSN:
