Thats a weird article... It goes from talking about an unrelated event in 1989, to talking about theoretical gas shuttofs,  to theoretical power outages, just to end up totally out of the blue blaming the windmills. What? Pure rubbish if you ask me.

The reason Texas had power outages is because the network was not winterproofed. Simple as that.

AOC built a time machine, went back before her birth and sabotaged the planning that would winterize the Texas systems and set the stage for a Marxist takeover via solar power and windmills. And that's why Texans lost power.

BOMBSHELL: Biden administration blocked Texas from increasing power as Texas begged for help a week before catastrophic polar vortex.
Texas asked to temporarily lift regulations on energy output to avoid disaster. Biden's DOE refused to help due to "green energy standards".

you read that right
This incremental amount of restricted capacity would be offered at a price no lower than $1,500/MWh.

The average Texan pays approximately $0.1098 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), and uses about 1,171 kWh per month.
(this works out to $109.80 per MWh)

ERCOT was given emergency permission to exceed environmental standards by the DOE. It actually says that in the letter you posted.

Dude, you are literally posting the letter showing they were granted permission.

The 1500MWh just means they can only sell that emergency capacity over certain demand/supply and after attempting to use all other resources. Hell prices went up to 9000MWh and not higher because it was capped....

So please stop the misinformation.

yes, i posted the letter showing they were granted permission - and the federal government price gouging the consumer in texas doesn't bother you?  it's pretty much a given that texas attempted to use all other resources and were then victims of highway robbery by the federal government in exchange for turning on old systems.

as for prices at $9000 MWh - where's the link to that?

as for "please stop the misinformation." - please refer to the TOS at https://www.visajourney.com/terms-of-service/

****crickets******

I am curious as to how my next electric bill will look.  I normally pay about .10759/Kwh.  I use less than the average Texas household.

That seems uncalled for. The question was posted an hour ago. Not everyone hangs out on VJ all day long.

"uncalled for"?  As a resident of Texas, I am interested in this thread. I would like to see more information.   I DO hang out here all day......since VJ is such an educational and entertaining place.
