Hello,

My fiance is from England and is due to have his interview at the London embassy July 17, 2007. We "pre-empted" the embassy's request for the affidavit form, etc and so I sent all of that information to him very early June. At that time I asked my present employer to sign and date a letter, as you well know, which asks for my present salary, if I work full time/permanently, and the rest.

However, only two weeks later, I left that job (last day was June 14). I now have a new job, but will not be starting until July 16 (a day before his interview).

Though he has the letter from my previous employer, dated around May 26 I believe, shall I be crass and ask my brand new employer to sign a similar letter and rush this through international post? Will those at the London embassy question the amount of time from the end of May, when the letter is dated, to present? Will they do a sort of "background check" to make sure that individual is still my present employer?

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

A. F.

I did the same thing, actually picked up two new jobs. And my fiance also picked up a new job. I have letters from my old employer and one of the two new ones (but had problems obtaining a letter from the second job, so I'll be sending paystubs and a letter explaining why). From what I've heard, unless the letter is 6 months old or something then it doesn't matter (considering how long it takes for some of us to get interviews...). I currently have a letter from my old employer dated April 24 and the letter from my new employer dated June 12.

But...I'll be in the same boat as you, since we don't even have our NOA2 yet! LOL

Divorced. To hell with him.
