Hi everyone

i just received a letter from USCIS that states i dont have to go for biometrics meaning they will use my previous records....do you know more or less after how long from receiving this letter someone will receive their appointment for interview?

In normal conditions, 10 months but it varies by field office.  You can use the timeline features of this web site to see how long N-400 cases are taking for your field office.

There isn’t a correlation with biometrics letter and interview. Every field office is different and that is what your wait time will depend on. Please complete your VJ timeline good luck  🙂

There’s no hard and fast rule. See my signature for how long I have been waiting for an interview, I had my biometrics done in October 2019 (yes, 2019). But there are people who applied three months ago who already have interviews scheduled. Every office works at a different speed. 

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

 

Now a US citizen!
