Middle name is incorrectly added as "NONE" in I797

Hello guys. I need some advice here. I recently submitted I-90 online to renew my green card. As suggested by many, I put "NONE" in middle name field although I don't have one. This is to avoid leaving a blank and chance of rejection. So I just received the I-797. USCIS incorrectly put "NONE" as my middle name!! I called USCIS office to correct it but no one answered. Does any one know the proper way to correct? It's crazy that USCIS emphasize to enter "NONE" but handled it like a real middle name.

Thank you !!

I still don't understand how someone can give an advice to put none in a name field. That should never be recommended. The instructions also doesn't tell you to put none if you don't have a middle name.

If you submitted it online, then it's mostly your fault. Your name will show up when you electronically sign it, so I'm sure the "none" would be there. If you had filed by paper, the person that received it would probably notice it and not enter the name.  Remember that it's an electronic form. A person is not reviewing it to issue the NOA 1, so the system assumes that whatever you put there is correct. What if someone actually has a middle name "None"?.

Call USCIS and say Technical Difficulties. You're gonna be transferred to someone immediately. You're gonna say that you made a mistake when you filled out your name and ask them if they can update your name.

Ayrton, Thank you so much for your response. I thought about leaving blank but saw the below USCIS twitter. They literally ask people to mark "none" in middle name and don't leave them blank. This is my first online application, I don't know how this could happen. I will give them another call see what happens.

Ugh, that's such a terrible advice. There's no issue on leaving it black.

I've seen multiple cases here where this happened and people had a None or NA middle name. If someone doesn't have a middle name, the answer to this question should always be blank.

I also filed a I-90 online, left the middle name blank and had no issues. Online applications won't let you submit it if there's something wrong.

I hope they are able to change it, if not, I think you can send a letter to service center that has your case informing of the mistake and asking to get it fixed.

I also have no middle name and left it blank. It worked out fine.

The only issue I've ever had was my marriage license came out as "Firstname (NMN) Lastname Lastname" and in some documents "(NMN)" made it into my full name, parenthesis and all.
