that's because the gun lobby (and gun owners) are well aware of what happens when there is "reforms" "compromise" "common sense gun control" and other infringements upon their rights as citizens.

Is that why the NRA is fundraising with Notice of Gun Confiscation on the envelope?

These killings didn't come from an illegal gun, unless there is new info

I don't think all people are the problem, even the shooters in these cases were not raised to kill, what triggers these events?

How you can tell these two young men, who purchased very close to the time of attack from ever other young man who chooses to purchase a gun? If we could go back in time we would not let the purchase go through, but do we know what they would look like if they walked into a gun shop?

You can say they,or their families,  should have taken responsibility for the situation but that doesn't bring back the dead.

My issue the the gun lobby is that there is zero compromise on the topic of reforming the background check, magazine sizes and a host of other issues. Isn't there room to at least let the local law enforcement review the application? Can't the default be a 7 day wait unless there is a personal protection issue?

I already live in a state that never lifted the 1994 assault weapons ban. We must pass a background check. We have reduced capacity magazines. There has been lots of one way compromises in Massachusetts. And they always want more.

I seem to recall Beto saying "Hell, yes!  We are going to confiscate your AR-15s....".....

That is an infringement on my rights...an extra burden placed on a law abiding citizen......

Fair enough, how do I weigh your "rights" to have your weapon on the same day of purchase against increasing the chance that the wrong person will have a gun?. I may not know that you are law abiding and have no malicious intent, does the clerk just go on your say so?

Then perhaps having a waiting period for buying alcohol would be a good idea. I would have no idea if you were responsible with alcohol or not. How would we know if you were to drink and then drive? The possibilities are endless.

An extra burden of a 1 week delay doesn't actually constitute infringement (by definition).

I think it does.

How about voting, should voters in Georgia be able to register on the same day as the election?
