Biden Administration and more gun control, where will it go?

We haven’t visited this subject for a while, and it certainly won’t be as fun and entertaining as it was in the good old days of VJ, but why not give it a whirl? Do you think Biden will attempt to ban many common firearms in use today, AR’s, AK’s, semi auto pistols, standard capacity magazines? Will he look to Massachusetts and our dear Attorney General Maura Healy who has made a mockery of the Second Amendment?

He and his Congress will tax the dickens out of ammunition, try to restrict its purchase, or both.

Beeto will start promoting "buybacks," when the guns weren't the government's to begin with.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

So we have the right to bear arms, but not ammo?

Now I'm glad I kept my 28lb sledge hammer.

They very well might try that angle.

Fortunately, people with a little knowledge and the right tools can make their own ammo.

The guns and ammo feeding frenzy started here about a year ago and got progressively worse. 9mm went from $8 box to $40, and it’s very hard to find, limit of 1-2 boxes per customer. Most of the smaller shops will only sell you ammo if you buy a gun. But guns are in very short supply. 22 LR went from $18 brick to $100. 5.56 and 223 are pretty much nonexistent and if found sell for $1 per round. I haven’t seen 357 magnum ammo for at least 6 months. I’ve read of talk about a 50% tax on ammo.

As as far as reloading goes, primers are the missing link here.

I was at my mom's today talking to her "friend" aka boyfriend about this earlier today. He was complaining because he only had a couple hundred rounds of .223 with a hundred round drum but can't find any ammo to fill it with. I told him about a site I use sometimes to buy ammo online and looked to see if they had any ammo for sale. OMFG!!!!!! 1k of steel AK ammo is going for $500 a box while it is alot more expensive than that for .223. The biggest reason I have AKs is because the ammo is cheaper but this is crazy.

Then we got on the subject of the price of firearms and my mom was telling me that she went looking for more magazines for her .380 pistol at a dealer. They were seeing off brand .380's being sold for over $400 which is CRAZY

The problem we have here is only a handful of online retailers will ship ammo to MA. There are many that won’t even ship non regulated parts or components here. Right now there are very few new sub $400 handguns here and they sell out the day they come in to the shop. Think Taurus, Mossberg, maybe Ruger. The Sig P365 is now between 575 and 650. And you can’t walk in and buy one, you have to reserve  one. A year ago they were $500 and everyone had them to sell. I don’t know if it’s this bad everywhere else, but here it is beyond belief.

Yes..... this is how they are going to restrict the ability of people to use /carry firearms is through the restricting ammo purchases. You already see this in some states like CA made you have a background check on file to buy ammo.

Never wait till after the panic starts to buy.  Didn't we learn that with N95's?

Exactly.... even back in December and January last year masks were getting hard to come by. I remember going to Walmart looking at masks and they had exactly two boxes in stock so me and a older gentleman both got a box. We asked one of the people standing near by if they had anymore boxes and he said no, and then the older man asked him if he knew what was happening with the Coronavirus. The guy said "No, I ain't heard anything about a virus btw we do have these (non-masks) items on sale right now.

BTW I have several thousand rounds of rifle and handgun ammo

I assumed you did. I was just saying in general. Sometimes you can see these things coming.

The problem with ammo now is availability and replacement cost. I like to shoot and shoot regularly. When 9mm was $180 case, it wasn’t too bad to shoot 200 rounds per week. At $700+ per case it’s very expensive. And I always replace what it shoot so I don’t go thru  my stash.
