AOS interview upcoming with outdated Affidavit of Support and New Job!

Hi all and thanks for any help!

I have my interview with my husband (he's the immigrant) upcoming this week. It's been a very LONG time since I applied (Dec 2019) and I filed without a co-sponsor as I made just enough money at the time. Now, I've been unemployed for a while and have just accepted a job offer. I will be starting orientation at the new job literally the day before but the job said they would write me a letter to bring to the interview. However, my Initial Affidavit of support is so outdated now and not accurate. Am I expected to bring a new one to the interview? Also, I won't have recent pay stubs or an accurate figure of how much I will make at this new job (though I could estimate). The whole thing seems so complicated now and I'm not sure what to do, any advice? Also I'm bringing paperwork for a co-sponsor because I know me being unemployed and just now getting a job doesn't look great and bringing a co sponsor is now needed.

I would say, make a new copy of the I-864 (even the old form and the new form to be on a safe side and be in a ready situation), with co-sponsor part as well. Get the letter from your employer with the amount of money (rate per hour or per year and number of hours you would be working) you will be making in this job. That way you can justify the financial support part. Also whatever details you have from your unemployment period. If you earned unemployment, bank statements etc.

Try to show whatever is true and to the best of your sources to be above the required limit.

They hardly ask for i-864 once you get to interview stage. Good luck.

Thank you, I'll try my best to make a new I-864 with the information I know.

They asked me 3-4 questions from I-864, although we were lucky to be in a good financial standing (Especially with the new I-944, the officer asked me a trick question, which was not making much sense even to my husband, but we dodged that). My interview was on the 25th Jan 2021. It's better to be prepared, plus, they really know where to grill you based on the application part.

Unless I'm completely out of the loop, as we filed in December 2019 I don't believe we need the I-944 (honestly we would be in a dire situation if we needed it). Yeah, I will definitely have an updated I-864 ready, and with a new co sponsor and evidence of a new job I don't think they'll give me much trouble.

My husband had changed jobs while waiting for Aos interview, and when we went for the interview, we had brought updated i-864. Even although it was obvious that he changed jobs and we relocated to another state, they didn't ask one though.
