I have applied and awaiting receipt of the certificate.

 

What country are you applying from and what is your country of citizenship? The process would depend on these factors.

Applying from Germany; country of citizenship is India.

You would need to contact the Consulate General of India in the city closest to you in Germany.


Here’s the link for the consulate in Frankfurt. There should be one in other big cities such as Berlin and Munich:

It appears it is very straight forward In Germany and from the website you would be able to get the police clearance certificate on the same day. Good luck!
