February 2021 K1 Filers

Hello everyone,

Does anybody know what happens if NVC sends a case to the wrong embassy?

Is there any way to change that? When we filled out the I-129F I was living in Spain BUT as my mailing address and embassy we gave them my Chilean address. By accident today we found out that our case was about to be sent to Spain. The officer on the phone told us she'll request a change of address to her supervisor.

Any insights?

TIA...

Also got a response of USCIS on our case inquiry, that our case is being adjudicated today.

We sent the inquiry on October 14th,  NOA1 is Feburary 19th. So kind of forwarding :)

Kind of the same as with @lastrose where they got the message and got approved 4 days later :).

Getting there :)

Does anyone get NOA2 today?

I checked case tracker today. Nothing  changed.

I'm really sorry because I know the wait sucks, but you're going to need to take a deep breath and prepare to wait. You also can't keep asking this question in multiple places.

USCIS has been processing about 30 cases a day, which means just to get through the rest of Feb will take over 50 days. But they will move on to March at some point and work on both Feb and March. Pay attention to the spreadsheet I post updates on every few days because you're so close to the beginning of the month, as you see end of Feb cases getting processed, you'll have more information.

Keep in mind there are still January filers who have not received NOA2 so while we all understand it's frustrating, your situation isn't as bad as some. Yet. You need to keep that in mind. It can be hurtful to people who are at 300 days+ of waiting to see someone complain about 215 days. I don't say this because I don't think you have a right to complain. You do. But so do others who have been waiting a LOT longer. And posting the same question in multiple places doesn't help.

The truth is, no one knows when your case will be processed. Even if they get to March 3 in two weeks, yours might be one they don't touch for a much longer amount of time. The best thing you can do is try to relax because there's nothing you can do to speed the process up but you can manage your expectations.

And yes, put NOA1 into that box you asked about.

Hang in there. It will happen, but worrying won't make it happen faster.

Thanks for the information. That’s what I really need. I just found out processing is being slower than before. So I was so confused. Even 1-2 weeks ago, it seems like people got NOA2 between 180-210 days. Not at all, it did in my country. :/ anyway thank you for the answer. I just understand that many people haven’t received NOA2 yet more than I know. Hope we get NOA2.

I get it. Keep an eye on what's happening in Feb for sure. The other thing slowing down the new cases being touched is that responses to RFEs are coming in so they have to be processed again. If it helps, I'm seeing a little more movement today. I'll try to give a better update tomorrow morning when we've had time to update the spreadsheet.

I don't think it's true that NOA1 was coming in 180-210 days a couple of weeks ago. I got mine on 9/28 and it was 231 days and that was faster than many. The average has been around 240-250 for a while. Check out this:

Tuesday morning (Oct 26) update.

  • I didn't see any cases touched over the weekend. This was pretty much the case last weekend also. Normally there are a few looked at on Saturday morning.
  • ~40 cases processed (approved, denied, RFEd) yesterday so ever so slightly higher than the daily average.
  • Currently at about 38% of cases processed.
    • Every date has now been touched but the last few days of the month are still slow on progress
    • For dates Feb 1 to Feb 21, ~62% of cases have been or are in processing
      • Feb 1 to Feb 7 = 65%
      • Feb 8 to Feb 14 = 62%
      • Feb 15 to Feb 21 = 57%
      • Feb 22 to Feb 28 = 5.5%
  • In terms of WAC ranges, there's consistent movement through 54499 and then it slows down a lot.
    • 50% of cases through ~49000 to 54499 have been or are in processing
    • Only 3.6% of cases from 54500 to 594999 have been touched.

Spreadsheet here
