I just cannot understand the different order of WAC number and the date of received NOA1. Why do people who received NOA1 later than me have earlier number of WAC? I am feb 1st filer and have not received noa2 yet and waiting patiently but it's becoming frustrating now and confusing me a lot. As long as I check the spreadsheet, it seems like nvc is processing earlier number of WAC. At this point, the received date doesn't matter? Do they assign WAC number randomly regardless of the received date of noa1? so the people who got earlier wac number are just lucky?

I know it's frustrating, but there are still a LOT of cases from January that have not been processed and even a few from December. Also, this is USCIS not NVC. NVC is the next step after NOA2. The received date does matter (mostly) and most WAC numbers are assigned in order, but there are so many people working that NOA1 is sometimes out of order (for example, a whole bunch of Feb 25 filers got NOA1 before many January filers and so their WAC numbers are earlier) and the same goes for NOA2.

There are any number of reasons some are processed out of order which I covered in a previous post and I'm sure I don't even know the half of it when it comes to their reasons. At the end of the day, it's a government agency probably working with outdated software and the people handling the cases probably don't much care about our lives and our worries.

So yes, some people get lucky. There's a Feb filer who filed filed Feb 25, got NOA2 fast, and had the interview happen on August 10.

I really hope yours comes soon!

Not sure if everyone is aware but you can submit a case out of normal processing times if your NOA1 dates is before 10th Feb 2021 here: https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request

You can find the processing times at https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

Might not get a reply straight away but it may help. All we can do is try.

Also for those that have got an RFE here is a useful tip from the January Filers page about how to get them to send you the RFE via email if you don't receive it in the mail

Wishing everyone good luck! Hopefully we'll all hear something soon!!!

I just realized that I didn’t send in a copy of my disposition for an arrest I had 20 years ago. I disclosed everything and checked the appropriate boxes and gave an explanation of what occurred but I didn’t sent a certified disposition. Will I get an RFE?

Tuesday (Oct 5) morning update.

  • Slow progress over the weekend (almost none) and a fairly slow day yesterday.
  • They're still focusing on 49000–51999 - haven't seen any movement into 52000 and beyond
  • That range is still the Feb 1–Feb 9 dates
  • 35 processed yesterday, 215 in the last week (since and including 9/28)

The data doesn't look much different from Saturday so not posting the table. As always, you can go look at it yourself here.

I think they have like one or two days in a week when they process more than this small amount of cases

I called uscis with my lovely  fiancé laying next to me (btw to get thru Emma just say infopass). We asked the lady if everything alright with our case since it takes soo long for them to process it. She firstly said that it BC went on background check on oct1??? Shouldn’t it be earlier? That was really weird and when she was in the middle of that sentence she stopped and told me she can’t say anything more because our case is still within normal processing times of 6-8 months (ours is 7 months 3 weeks 5 days). I told her that we sent an inquiry because website showed the date February 10th. She said it might be an error on the website. I’m still confused about background check occurring soooo late. Anybody had same experience?

You did good to get that much information. The guy I spoke to wouldn’t tell me anything.

See my post from yesterday morning. They are still on Feb 1 to 9 and WAC ranges 49000 to 51999 for the most part (which is where they've been for last 3+ weeks). You can also check the spreadsheet which we've been updating pretty regularly.

I woke up before my fiancé. He’s such a beautiful in every way man. I was admiring his sleep and got upset that soon we are going to be separated because our vacation in Cancun comes to an end. I was so frustrated about getting noa2 and was preparing to call uscis as they told us on Monday. And got notification form tracker. MY CASE WAS APPOVED. This is just incredible. No more really long separation with my fiancé.

NOA1 - February 8 2021

NOA2 - October 7 2021

Amazing news! So happy for you! :D
