I'm reading some Govt. job requirements which state US citizen or Permanent legal resident as their requirements.

What does a 2 year greencard mean in this situation??

The 2 year GC is fine for this purpose--as the holder of such is a Permanent Resident.

I read and called around agencies too that the conditional card is not accepted for some gov't. jobs, one who has that has to remove the conditions to secure the position.. which is understandable. I don't want to be a threat to the national security with my conditional residency card.

A Temporary Permanent Resident (as you wrote in your thread title) would really be an oxymoron as the words temporary and permanent would be in conflict with each other when used in this context.....

congrats on the greencard mate... your best bet would be to ring the department and ask the question .. government departments have different requirements mate...

A Temporary Permanent Resident (as you wrote in your thread title) would really be an oxymoron as the words temporary and permanent would be in conflict with each other when used in this context.....

I combined temporary greencard and conditional permanent resident in my head before coming out with that title, however I think I get the picture.

Bother , I missed out on one great job a week ago as they would not accept EAD, now it seems I'll not be able to do certain things with the " conditional" GC. Bother again.

Obviously it will differ from employer to employer but in theory there should be no difference between your ability or authorization to work whether you possess EAD, 2 yr GC or 10yr GC...

USPS, for example, allows permanent residents to work, but they do require the 10-year card in that case.
