My husband and I submitted all of our documents on October 8th and they were accepted. We still have not received any notice that we are documentarily complete. I’ve reached out to NVC over the phone with no luck speaking to an actual person and I’ve emailed the AskNVC question box several times (also no answer).

This seems to be taking way too long. What else can we do to get answers about our case?

They don’t send you a notice or email saying DQ, nice they’re happy with everything and it’s been accepted they’ll make arrangements with consulate... so the next email you get will be from your local consulate with interview details...usually a month or two after DC but with covid and closures it’s been taking longer... 6 moths for me..

Hello! I am sorry you have not heard anything from NVC. I know it's very stressful when you don't understand what is going on. For consulates in Europe the process is faster compared to other countries.

According to VisaJourney people from France have interviews. I would suggest you to call them again and talk to a real person.

From our own experience. We did not see any movement for our case since we got DQ. We sent an expedite, no reply. Then my husband called NVC and spent about 2 hours on the phone with the agent. The next day we got our interview letter. Again, we were looking at Ukrainian members' timelines not other countries.

Wishing you good luck 🍀 and keep us updated

The best time to call NVC is right before they open or close to closing time. You should be able to speak to a person then.

What about if they have received the documents?

I have upload all the documents to the NVC on Dec 02, and the status was changed to 'submitted' since then.

Does that mean that the NVC have received the documents, and the docs are now waited to be reviewed and accepted?

And I would be reached out by the local consulate after the documents are completely accepted?

Thank you so much

Your best path forward is to call NVC and speak to someone about your case.  It takes patience to get through, but it can be done.  Ask them why the submitted documents have not been accepted.  Once they have been accepted, then NVC will review them, and eventually will send an email (if they have yours on the file), informing you that the petition and documents are being sent to the Department of State (embassy or consulate abroad).  That email is the "DQ" that people refer to.  It could be that because of COVID and interviews on hold or slowed down, that they are also slowing down the DQ reviews and emails.  So call them and ask.  Good luck!

Hi PaRo2020,

Yes, I've been meaning to write an update. I had to continue calling NVC until one of the agents ACTUALLY sent our file to her supervisor with an explanation of the problem. My understanding is that because we'd had a document refused, the system kept a sort of flag on our file that didn't get removed even after we had corrected the problem. If an agent was just looking up our file with the case #, they would still see a flag saying there was a problem and not look any further, so I had to really push and say, "Look, we've been in this process for months and we have done everything on our end, so this needs to get resolved now."

In all, I think I called and spoke with agents at NVC 5 times before we got the DQ notice. The agents said they had flagged our account for review, but they had to write specifically to their supervisor about our case and explain the problem. Once that happened, things moved quickly and we got our interview date at the embassy in Barbados.

After NVC fixed the problem how long did it take for Barbados to schedule your interview.  Can you  kindly share your experience at the interview.  Cheers

After they fixed the problem it took a few days to get our DQ notice, and then we. had our interview within 30 days.

My husband and I traveled to Barbados, he did all of the required testing and physical examinations on the Tuesday, and the interview was on the Thursday of that same week. There was a significant back up with the test processing, so we did not have the results in hand when he went to his interview, but the embassy was aware of the problem. In any case, my husband was perfectly healthy, so there were no objections based on his health.

I was not allowed to accompany him inside the embassy due to Covid restrictions. One week before we were scheduled to travel to Barbados, the embassy contacted me for our tax transcripts. Upon requesting them from the IRS, I found out that they had not recorded any of my taxes for the 7 years that I had been living abroad. We were worried that this would be an issue, but my husband explained the situation to his interviewer, and they accepted without too much fuss.

He left the embassy with a pink slip that we had to mail back to the embassy along with his passport via DHL once we returned home. The processing took about one week, and we received the documents back with the visa in the passport between 10 days and 2 weeks later.

We thought things would be easier from here, but we have now been in the US since mid-July and we still have not received my husband's green card. Normally, there is a 90 day processing window, which we passed last month and there's no use contacting USCIS before that time is up because they just tell you to wait and contact once the 90 days are up. The day after the 90 days, I sent in a request through the online form at https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayNDCForm.do?sroPageType=ndc&entryPoint=init (Non-delivery of card) and selected form OS155A, which is what they told me to do. I got an automated response saying we would hear back by November 4th (tomorrow). No news so far, so I guess we're hoping tomorrow brings a miracle!

thank you so much for sharing! and the delay in delivering SS cards seems to be a major issue so many posts saying they have arrived significantly late after arrival.  I'm hoping they get it out to you soon!

any updates? All documents are accepted for my relative's spouse May 2021, but no DQ yet. Called NVC today, she said she is going to send it to her supervisor. Everything has been reviewed but they didn't provide feedback?

What is their phone number?

NVC suspended inquiry services via phone.  You will need to use their AskNVC public inquiry form if you have questions/requests.

Hey Chancy, I got an update of my case with everthing accepted and no DQ message. Is that normal?
