i130 filing question (merged threads)

It is technically your spouse that has to fill out the form, but you can do it for him/her.  It does not need to be signed if your spouse is not in the US.

Hi, I am filing i130 for my wife who is my spouse beneficiary. 

 

I have 3 questions

1) my wife residence is in Gujarat. The online file doesn't ask for a state it says province only.  Can I write Gujarat in the province field?

 

2) in cases where the question is not applicable such as if I have any other names, I cannot write N/A, can i skip the question? 

 

3) in terms of native language, does my spouse need to write her name and address in gujarati (her native language)?

1) Just enter N/A in the state field and zip code and enter Gujarat and the pin code in the postal code.

2) Yes, but it is safer to put N/A.

3) Yes.

If you can, try typing "no other names used", the question is applicable so N/A would not be an appropriate response.

July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal
