There are guides on here that give you timeframes for your country, but with covid no one can tell you how long for sure. You can also check on NVC timeframes here.

I will say that I am currently waiting for my spouse's interview to be scheduled in Ireland, but the embassy keeps on closing with covid protocol so we've been waiting since October when my understanding is that it usually doesn't take that long. The actual NVC process for us was the quickest part of this whole thing. If your country is going through similar situations with lockdowns then you might as well get comfortable, and be ready with your information before you need it.

Good luck

👐

Patience......patience.

F2A

Ok so sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you probably have quite a long wait if you just got approved. This category has been banned for visa issuance since mid April so everyone who was already DQ and lined up for interview/got them cancelled (or cancelled earlier due to the Covid shutdowns from mid March), and everyone who has DQ’d between then and now, will be ahead of you in the interview line. (This includes not just F2A but all banned categories as the slots open up on a kind of “first DQ first served” basis. And the interviews have not even restarted yet. The quieter your home embassy the shorter the queue will be, but it is likely in general to be many months before you will get an interview. Possibly longer than a year at some enbassies.

Took 18 days from the USCIS to the NVC? And how do I know when it gets to the NVC

You will receive correspondence explaining what to provide to NVC.  After all the documents are accepted at NVC, your case will be document qualified.  Then the process progresses as follows:

1. Case is DQ'd by NVC.

2. Case then enters NVC queue for your consulate and waits at NVC.

3. Consulate informs NVC of available interview date for upcoming month.

4. NVC schedules interview when case reaches the front of the queue for that consulate.

5. NVC notifies person of interview date via email.

6. NVC then sends case to consulate.

After the interview is scheduled, it can take several days to several weeks for the consulate to receive the case.

NOA1 - November 11 2019

NOA2 - February 11 2020

please can anyone advise how long it takes for NVC to receive my application, and when the interview would be scheduled ?

So I did no expediting with my NVC. I uploaded everything ASAP, I got an RFE in 9 days, in 2 weeks after that I was approved. I was told it would be months and it happened so fast for me. Not sure if a lot of people has that experience but mine happened back in November 2020

I’ve been seen people saying it could take months, the process is a bit confusing. How would I get to know the petition is with the NVC?

They should send you an email saying it was sent to NVC. Then you’ll get another email with login information to get into the CEAC website to upload all your NVC stuff.
