In our local offices (Charlotte NC) we know people during pandemic time getting their naturalization approved within 5 months ,so if its the only chance for me we're thinking if it's a good idea to apply within this week, study and practice as much as possible for the day of the test and interview .

Focus on getting the N400 submitted, she can do the studying later.  I am not sure if you mentioned, how long has your wife been an LPR?

Though marriage to a US citizen and approved before coming to US. In other words she was already a GC holder before coming to the US for the first time .

To be clear, no she wasn't. She became a permanent resident when she entered the US with the immigrant visa. This distinction is important.

Yes she's taking the cases and studying and the 2 times we did a simulation test she got I would say at least 90% of the questions correct out of the 128. Like I said before her biggest fear is the in-person questions with the immigration officer.

Dude, then I don't understand what she's freaking out about.  I believe USCIS only asks 10 questions of which you need to answer 6/7 right.

File N400 online this week. As stated,  NC if fast. You may be lucky.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

she's for Sure is doing that right this week because of the circumstances, mistakes happened and i trusted Lawyers more than i should when all of them gave me a green light to process with the filling with my wife being a LPR. IT really makes me sad they even Charged me for consultations services that were not accurate and 2 of them were actually "experienced lawyers"

Since you can't work right now, you'll be able to take care of the kids while she works on her English skills, at work, or at school.

Best of luck to your family.

For sure, i don't want to leave my family and specially the little one that only knows me as the only Dad and for me my baby boy... Thank you

She hasn’t filed yet. She gets the new test which is 12/20 questions.

The previous Administration changed the test for applications filed on or after December 1, 2020. It's now 12 correct answers (from up to 20 questions asked from the total 128) to pass.

There is speculation that the current Administration will undo the test change: https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/presidential-actions/2021/02/02/executive-order-on-restoring-faith-in-our-legal-immigration-systems-and-strengthening-integration-and-inclusion-efforts-for-new-americans/

Quote

Sec. 5. Promoting Naturalization. (a) Improving the naturalization process. The Secretary of State, the Attorney General, and the Secretary of Homeland Security shall, within 60 days of the date of this order, develop a plan describing any agency actions, in furtherance of the policy set forth in section 1 of this order, that they will take to:

(i)   eliminate barriers in and otherwise improve the existing naturalization process, including by conducting a comprehensive review of that process with particular emphasis on the N-400 application, fingerprinting, background and security checks, interviews, civics and English language tests, and the oath of allegiance;

Hi everyone.  Following what the Agent told me almost at the end of the interview he said:will give a me chance with a letter sent within 2 weeks and won't put me in removal processing neither send me to court just because my excellent good behavior and moral during all this years.

That's now how that works.  Laws are laws.  "Give you a chance with a letter"?  Meaning what?

There is no way she will have naturalized within two weeks.

It still boggles my mind how they didn’t do everything in their power to help her become a citizen BEFORE doing all this. Good luck to you sir! There’s lawyers and interpreters for the naturalization interview to help you through it. For the test there’s classes you can go to. My parents barely spoke English and passed the Canadian test by going to some classes at the local library years and years ago. It can absolutely be done if you put the effort into it

It all boils down to the fact that life is full of choices and consequences....and hind sight is always 20-20.
