I got a refund from French and English airlines (Air France and British Airwaves)

None of the Americans companies ever paid me back, never answered my messages, mails, tell me on the phone that my case is processing but I don't really believe it's true.. my money is long gone with them imo...

Not sure what US airline you have booked but from my experience, the UNITED Air Line will let you reschedule without fee.😉

Hi!

Just to update people on that and maybe help someone in the same case.

- We called the USCIS (held an hour... 😕 ) and the lady told us that if we submitted our AOS before having confirmation that our K1 is withdrawn, it would surely be denied.. Haha we were like "That's not what people told us... great!"

- We called the NVC  (held an hour again... 😕 ) to urge them to withdraw our case but the lady told us our case was sent back to the USCIS 6 days ago. Okay good! She also told us that "of course we can file our AOS even if our K1 is not withdrew yet" !

Lol don't know who to believe these days...

- We called the USCIS back  (held an hour aaaagain... 😕 ) to ask them if they got our case from the NVC and if we could file our AOS before having the confirmation that our K1 is withdrawn, and another lady told us she couldn't answer that so she scheduled a call with an officer who should call us next week and answer our questions.

It's just withdrawing an application, I'm sure it's just clicking on a button, for something that cannot even happen anymore since we're not eligible to K1 now that we're married, there not even a verification to do or anything.

No wonder why the cases take a year to be processed, they just don't want to work.

Also, did I mention my first call to the USCIS (after an hour waiting on the phone hearing the same message "We can only speak to the petitioner or the beneficiary, otherwise we cannot help you.") a lady told me she could only speak to the petitioner and since I'm the beneficiary she will not talk to me. Had to get my wife in one minute, she introduced herself and the lady on the phone was just muted... After 5 minutes being like "Hello ? Is someone there still ?" we had to hang up and call again to wait another hour !!

What the NVC representative said is 100% accurate. The USCIS phone line is also known as the "misinformation line" since they spread a lot of misinformation. The true purpose of USCIS phone line is to parrot the pending case status (that can also be checked online) and help scheduling an InfoPass appointment for document services (i.e. emergency Advance Parole, ADIT stamp for LPRs, etc.).

wow! Thank you for sharing this. We still don't have NOA2 but we just got married in Mexico. Little different situation as we won't be filing AOS but I am sending in a letter to withdrawl the i-129f too.

Found love, thought I wanted this path, two years later realized my partner was not worth all the stress 😁
